An expert's opinion of LifeSaver 'Fire'

The following quotes are personal and therefore do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the relevant authority from which they originate.

'The Fire Service College is proud to be associated with LifeSaver 'Fire' which we regard as a very innovative way of conveying important safety information to a wide audience. We welcome the opportunity to contribute to the content of LifeSaver 'Fire' in the knowledge that it will contribute to our objective of advancing the knowledge of fire safety and fire prevention.'

Mr Geoffrey Winkworth
Ex-Deputy Commandant, Director, Fire Safety Engineering Division, Fire Service College

'The Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 (as amended) contain a requirement for both informing and training of employees in fire safety procedures and related fire safety matters. Proposed changes to existing fire safety legislation (Regulatory Reform Order) will reiterate those requirements. Whilst it may be necessary to train nominated employees as fire marshals and other specific duties such as the safe use of fire-fighting equipment, there is also a clear duty to train all employees in general fire safety policy and procedures.

LifeSaver 'Fire' provides an excellent means of achieving the latter presented in a format that is interesting, enjoyable and very informative. The fire safety and fire prevention quizzes are designed in a way that enables the employer to provide a record of training given to employees and identify training needs.'

Mr Pete Pinney
Fire Safety Enterprises, Fire Safety Division, Fire Service College

'I think your product is of high quality and I am sure it performs a valuable role in the promotion of safer communities.'

Mr Philip Toase

'It is an excellent package'

Mr Alastair Gordon-Farleigh
Commercial Training & Development Officer, Somerset Fire & Rescue Service

'As a non-IT literate user, I found it very easy to navigate my way around it. I was struck by how much information was contained within it, but although there was a lot of information there I found it particularly useful that information on each subject was contained in just one screen. That, I think, is a very user-friendly feature. To be able to comprehend at a glance, without having to scroll down text, serves to get the message across in a much more memorable way, which is the purpose of LifeSaver 'Fire'. I also liked the interactive nature of LifeSaver 'Fire', which not only made it fun to use, but gave it a personal feel. The impression that LifeSaver 'Fire' is something that one can relate to and feel that it is one's own is also achieved by the Quizzes, which are a useful check on the extent to which one has understood and remembered what LifeSaver 'Fire' is saying. All together, fun, friendly, and informative. That, I suggest, is a very effective combination for a learning tool'
